I covered this when it first became news back in the end of July. So the lawsuit that followed ended with the teen who had been robbed by the internet giant winning his law suit. Amazon has agreed to pay $150,000.00 in the class action lawsuit.
I can’t say how pleased I am to see a regular person who was wronged stand up for themselves and have it pay off in the end. All to often people are expected to stand idly by as our liberties are taken away. As if it isn’t stealing when a corporation does it to an individual. This offense in my opinion is akin to the manager from Barnes and Nobel breaking into your house overnight to steal back that copy of Twilight after you wrote all your cheesy vampire poetry in the margins. As big business has repeatedly reminded us as they persecute pirates, digital theft is still theft.
